About Us

Kappa Chapter of Delta Tau Delta has enjoyed a long and prestigious history of involvement on Hillsdale College’s campus, but what sets the Delts at Hillsdale apart from other fraternities mostly pertains to how we understand our mission in light of the college’s mission. Delts have been, and will continue to be, athletes, resident assistants, senior class presidents, homecoming kings, and dean’s list students. Yet, were it not for the accountability that every Delt is held to by his brothers, all other accomplishments would fall short of our mission: “to cultivate Gentlemen of noble character.”

Delts are all about having a good time, but we also strive for excellence in our relationships, attitudes, and actions. During sports, studying, parties, and meetings, Delts can be identified by our conduct, both publicly and privately.

The Hillsdale College Honor Code states that, “A soul enjoys liberty when it is ordered—when its passions are ruled by reason and its habit is virtue.” Delts are passionate, and we participate in homecoming, Greek week, recruitment events, and our social activities with fervor and dedication. But Kappa Chapter doesn’t just encourage its members to pursue energy and enthusiasm: we demand an appreciation of why we share the common term “brother” with these men and no others. The years spent as a Kappa Chapter Delt have meaning for members because with these men they call their brothers they have, together, pledged to follow after truth, courage, faith and power - the four fundamental principles of Deltism.

Just as the college demands growth and enrichment, Delta Tau Delta demands of a constant pursuit of excellence. Those relationships, with Delts past, present, and still to come, preserve our brotherhood and make us stronger. We are Hillsdale Delts, and we aim to show it in everything we do.
